Product Manager

This is a PRODUCT MANAGEMENT position for HIGHLY TECHNICAL SOFTWARE PRODUCTS.

We have an immediate opening at our HQ office in Broomfield, CO for a Product Manager.


The successful candidate will become the liaison between our software development team and our customers.


To Spatial, you will be the "virtual customer" in an Agile software development environment. Your focus will be a new family of products that bring together a collection of software component technologies in the form of a rapid application development framework. You will be responsible for product requirements and specifications expressed at the API level, requiring at least a basic understanding of C/C++ software concepts. You will be responsible for understanding the existing and potential roles for Spatial software technology in 3D applications, and use this knowledge to guide the strategic and tactical development of the Spatial product portfolio.


To our customers, you will represent Product Planning. You will work with commercial software development customers in many different industries and countries, made common only by their use of 3D geometry. You will be responsible for understanding their end-user applications and how our technology fits in them. You will be an evangelist for Spatial products, showing the world how we provide value to our markets.


To succeed you must be able to understand complex engineering data flows and software engineering problems, and convert those problems into product requirements.


Requirements

  • MS degree minimum - Engineering (software, mechanical), or related field
  • Must be adept at understanding complex technical problems and be able to explain them to non-experts
  • Must be comfortable engaging with technical customers worldwide, including 1:1, small group, and large group settings
  • Must be conversant in software technology
  • U.S. Resident with ability to travel internationally
  • Experience in field - Any experience directly related to CAD/CAM/CAE/EDA software usage, deployment, or development is helpful

Software Engineer – Consulting Services
Broomfield, Colorado

Spatial has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer working as a Consultant in our Professional Services group serving the North American region. This position reports directly to the Worldwide Manager of Professional Services.


This consulting position would require the candidate to work with customers developing 3D applications who require assistance with the following services:


  • Application design
  • Program architecture
  • API (Application Programming Interface) implementation and code development
  • Workflow formulation
  • Proof-of-concept creation and prototyping
  • Software testing
  • Code review
  • Enhancement development of new or optimized feature/functionality
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Defect/bug fixing and work-around development
  • Consultative training


Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years professional experience in a service oriented group
  • Direct software development experience using C++ (Windows, UNIX, Linux)

Software Developer–Hidden Line Removal
Broomfield, Colorado

Spatial is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer, who has extensive experience developing geometric modeling and visualization software in a commercial environment, to join our Westminster, Colorado team. This individual will be responsible for the following:


  • Developing and enhancing the hidden line removal component of ACIS (Spatial's Geometric Modeler and flagship product)
  • Developing creative, innovative solutions to customer problems
  • Communicating with customers to understand and address technical issues

Experience:
We are looking for candidates satisfying at least two of the three following criteria:

  • 3 to 5 years of software development experience with geometric and visualization algorithms
  • Strong knowledge of general mathematics including geometric modeling and vector calculus
  • Proven experience with C++


Education:
Degree in Applied Mathematics, MS or PhD preferred. Engineering or related degrees with a strong concentration in Mathematics and relevant experience will be considered.


Requirements:

  • Significant commercial experience creating and implementing a broad range of computational geometry and visualization algorithms.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in the development and release of commercial software products.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills. Innovative problem solving required.

Software Developer–Multithreading
Broomfield, Colorado

Spatial is seeking a highly skilled C/C++ System Developer, who has extensive experience developing software in a commercial environment, to join our Broomfield, Colorado team. This individual will be responsible for the following:


  • Writing killer code that squarely meets the customer needs, is of the utmost quality, is designed for the future, and is performance oriented.
  • Taking on whatever responsibilities are required to keep the organization streamlined.
  • Employing excellent communication skills in a fast paced development environment.

Experience:
Three to five years of software development experience with multithreading algorithms. Geometric modeling, visualization, mathematics experience a plus.


Education:
Degree in Computer Science/Engineering. Engineering or related degrees with a strong concentration in Mathematics and relevant experience will be considered.

Requirements:

The applicant must have hands-on multithreading experience with proven results. Accordingly, we fully expect the applicant will also be familiar with:


  • Different parallelization strategies
  • Synchronization primitives
  • Debugging concurrency issues, and
  • Performance programming techniques.



Spatial Co-op/ Intern Program
Broomfield, Colorado

Spatial is seeking Co-ops or Interns to join our Co-op/Intern program. We believe in building long term relationships with our students. Therefore, Spatial Co-ops/Interns are expected to work at least two semesters with Spatial. The goal is to expose our students to as many aspects of ACIS software development as possible. After completing Spatial's Co-op/Intern program, each student will have spent time in Technical Support, Quality Assurance, Integration, Development and/or other area. Pay ranges from $13-17/hr depending on level of course completion. We are currently looking for students to fill summer 2007, fall 2007 and spring 2008 semesters.

Support Services Co-op or Intern (typical first program rotation)

Job Description:
Spatial is seeking a Co-op or Intern to join the World Wide Support Services team in Broomfield, Colorado. The Co-op/Intern would take on many of the responsibilities a full time technical support person would handle on a day to day basis. As a member of the Support Services team you will be responsible to provide first line technical support in a fast paced office environment for Spatial's 3D Modeling, Interoperability and Visualization product lines by reproducing software defects and developing workarounds as necessary. This position is a 40 hr/wk position lasting 1 semester or term.


Experience/Skills
An ideal candidate would be one who meets the following requirements:
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Hands-on experience with a commercial CAD application
  • Good knowledge of C++
  • Knowledge of "Geometric and Solid Modeling" and "Curves and Surfaces" principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ACIS, InterOp or HOOPS products is a plus.
