3D Mesh is an object-based software development toolkit providing fully-configurable surface and volumetric meshing capabilities. The component is optimized for pre-processing within a wide-range of applications with computer-aided engineering (CAE) requirements including structural analysis, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics and electronic design automation (EDA). 3D Mesh provides automatic mesh generation for curves, surfaces (triangle and quadrilateral) and volumes (tetrahedral). The thread-safe component enables multi-threaded applications to take advantage of multi-core hardware platforms and deliver unsurpassed performance.
3D Mesh includes a bridge to 3D ACIS Modeler and HOOPS 3D Framework (HOOPS/3DF) for fast, reliable integration. 3D Mesh for electronic design automation is licensed from Visual Kinematics, Inc.
3D Mesh Allows You To:
- Benefit from a modern object oriented architecture that is well defined, modular and suited for integration into existing applications
- Easily link your applications to 2.5D and/or 3D proprietary solvers
- Focus on core competencies and value-add, differentiating design and analysis technologies
- Join many of the largest and most respected CAE software companies already using Visual Kinematics component software technology
3D Mesh Key Features:
- Fast, fully automatic generation of triangular and quadrilateral surface meshes and tetrahedral volume meshes
- Mapped mesh, boundary layer and extrusion mesh generation including triangular, quadrilateral, tetrahedral, wedge, pyramidal and hexahedral elements
- Both linear and parabolic elements may be generated in all cases
- Arbitrary points and lines may be incorporated into a surface mesh. Points, lines and triangles may be embedded into a volume mesh.
- Mesh sizing control may be done with any combination of global element size, minimum element size, curvature based sizing and growth rate parameters. Specific sizing control may be placed on any number of arbitrary locations in space. Sizing control may also be controlled by a user defined function of spatial coordinates.
- Unique defeaturing and healing capabilities can be performed on both the 3D geometry and the mesh. Small holes and regions may be ignored and meshed over. Self intersecting surfaces may be repaired and properly meshed in many cases.
