跟踪技术前沿

By Keith Mountain, CEO

The challenge of developing mathematics and physics based application software is no longer isolated into a few well defined technology domains. Technology from adjacent domains can have significant effects on an application provider’s business. It is difficult to keep a watchful eye on the trends in adjacent domains while digging deep into those that are currently important to your application. Perhaps more difficult is predicting which trends are going to become valuable or dangerous and which will ultimately be unimportant.

Spatial provides an advantage to application developers because we work with developers from an entire range of 3D applications. We see interest gathering for a wide range of trends before most organizations can recognize and evaluate them. We also have the advantage of working at a basic mathematics and physics level where there can be significant value to a broad range of applications. This has led us to add new initiatives into our XP/Agile development process. Our objective is not only to provide the best foundation software products for today but also to prepare our product portfolio to enable our customers to incorporate new technologies into their products ahead of their competition.

Our development and field teams have been working with technology and technology partners in areas that we believe will affect our customers’ domains. Specifically, new technology in flexible volumetric meshing, space warping, constraint management and multi-core computers have led to advancements in electronic design automation, reverse kinematics and robotics, manufacturing process modeling and high performance thread-safe modeling.

As we invest in these new technologies we need your guidance. We want to understand the technology domains that you believe are critical to your business. Our development and field teams offer a great way to initiate discussions on your ideas. Working more closely together we can both build better products and respond more quickly to broad range of fast changing technologies around us.

Thank you for your confidence in Spatial and we look forward working with you in building your future.
