IFC File Format

IFC 3D file

The IFC file format is a neutral, open file format type which doesn’t fall under the control of a single vendor or group of vendors. It’s designed to facilitate interoperability in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry and is also commonly used in building information modeling (BIM) based projects. The IFC model specification is registered by the international standards organization (ISO).

IFC files are compatible with Autodesk’s Revit, Tekla’s BIMsight software, Adobe Acrobat, FME Desktop, Constructivity Model Viewer, CYPECAD, SketchUp, GRAPHISOFT’s ARCHICAD, and more.
