What is a revit file?

Revit is a building information modeling software that’s used by architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, designers, and contractors. It allows users to design a building and structure along with its components in 3D as well as annotate the model with 2D drafting elements.

Revit files support a number of various formats including DGN, DWF, DWG, DXF, IFC, SAT, and SKP in CAD. The image formats it supports are BMP, PNG, JPG, JPEG, and TIF.
