Surface Modeling

surface modeling in practice

Surface modeling is another technique to render how 3D objects might look like in real life. It’s also widely used in CAD but isn’t as complex as its cousin, Solid Modeling.

The difference between the two is that you can’t look inside a surface model the way you can in a solid modeling approach. Additionally, surface modeling allows objects to be geometrically incorrect while the reverse is true in solid modeling.
