Software Engineer, 3D Modeling Technology  (Job Code: MM0531)

Position Summary

SPATIAL is seeking a strong engineering / software developer with an interest in developing geometric modeling software, to join its Broomfield, Colorado team.

Responsibilities

Participate in all phases of software development of 3D geometric modeling algorithms involving manipulation of curves, surfaces, and boundary representation topology (Solid Modeling).  Support parametric curve and surface operations including evaluation and inverse evaluation, higher order derivatives, intersections, and curvature analysis through functionality and algorithms.  Support classical MCAD functionalities including SolidModeling Boolean, Offsetting, Filleting, and Surfacing operators.  Perform body analysis including collision detection, body clearance, and body point distance in support of the CAE and Metrology application domains.  

Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering 

Special Skills Requirements:

  • Experience with programming in C++.
  • Experience with programming constructs including data structures and Object Oriented Design Methodologies. 
  • Knowledge of multi-variable calculus, differential geometry, and toplogy theory.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical CAD, Metrology, and CAE, including their applicability to solid modeling software libraries.
  • Experience with problem solving, researching and evaluating mathematical approaches to industrial problems.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills;  Innovative problem solving required
  • Exceptional communication skills

Additional / Preferred Background and Skills / Relevant Experience

  • Creating and implementing computational geometry algorithms in commercial applications, such as Computer Aided Design, Finite Element Analysis, or Electronic Design Automation
  • Understanding and experience in the development and release of commercial software products

Software Developer - Geometry

POSITION SUMMARY

SPATIAL is seeking a strong engineering / software developer with an interest in developing geometric modeling software, to join its Broomfield, Colorado team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Developing, enhancing, and supporting 3D geometric modeling products.
  • Enhancing the reliability of a mature and complex software system.
  • Interacting with customers and product management teams.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience with mathematical algorithms and developing commercial software
  • 6+ years of software development

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Applied Mathematics; PhD.  MS.  Engineering or related degrees with a strong concentration in Computational Mathematics and/or relevant experience will also be considered such as Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering

Software Engineer - Interoperability

Broomfield, CO

Spatial Corp., a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes, is seeking highly skilled Software Engineers with experience developing CAD data translation software in a commercial environment to join its Broomfield, CO team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Developing / enhancing 3D CAD data translators, including geometry, visualization and GD&T data
  • Evaluating, integrating and productizing partner translator technology.
  • Developing creative, innovative solutions to customer problems
  • Communicating with other development teams round the world

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of commercial software development experience with CAD data translators
  • Proven experience with Object Oriented Programming, C++
  • Proven experience with CAD/CAM/CAE applications. Some mechanical design experience preferred
  • Understanding and experience in the development and release of commercial software products
  • Experience with Agile and XP practices a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering. Masters preferred.

Marketing Intern

Broomfield, CO

Spatial is looking for a marketing intern to update collateral pieces such as datasheets, case studies, and whitepapers; assist with company e-newsletters; assist in Search Engine Optimization activities and website updates; and maintain/update CRM database. The position requires working with and creating graphic pieces for collateral and website. The intern should have knowledge of Adobe design layout programs. Additionally, assistance will be required in event planning for the company Insiders’ Summit in the Fall.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updating datasheets, case studies, and whitepapers into company format using Adobe InDesign. Merging of foreign language text into collateral material.
  • Assist in creation of monthly company newsletter, as well as quarterly customer e-newsletter
  • Assist with content and graphics for website
  • Research and post content and events on third party sites
  • Update CRM database through sales department and e-newsletter

Required minimum experience/education for position:

  • College student aspiring toward a degree in Marketing, and/or Communications
  • Must have excellent writing communication and project management skills
  • Some experience using Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign
