冲突 "是指设计中的两个元素占用了相同的空间。在建筑信息模型（BIM）中，冲突检测是一种识别建筑物的两个部分（如管道、墙壁等）是否、在何处或如何相互干扰的技术。

存在3种冲突类型：
1. 硬冲突：

当两个或多个组件占据相同空间或相互干扰时，就会发生硬冲突。例如，管道穿过墙体布置，或通风管道横跨钢梁。
硬冲突检测是基于嵌入在BIM对象中的基于几何和规则的算法进行的。
2. 软冲突：
软冲突表示在设计阶段未为对象提供足够的几何公差，或其缓冲区被侵犯。
例如，未留出足够空间供维护人员检修空调设备，如果建筑设计中空间不足，就会触发软冲突。
要检测软冲突，必须根据适用的建筑标准和法规，为BIM对象提供足够的与对象相关的公差数据。
3. 工作流程冲突：
在BIM中，尽管这并非对象之间的冲突，但工作流程冲突是由于建筑信息不一致或相互矛盾而产生的。例如，空调维护计划与备件的预定交付时间不匹配。
工作流程 冲突检测 （或4D 冲突检测）用于识别设备、材料交付、调度及其他时间线上的冲突。
通过输入每个活动的开始和结束时间，可以生成连续的时间线。
